The low-range sensor (part number VM) is designed to detect VOCs in the range of 0-25 ppm (parts per million). The high-range sensor (part number VP) is designed to detect VOCs in the range of 0-500 ppm.

It can be confusing to know which sensor is the best choice, especially if you are wanting to detect relatively low VOC levels, for example in ambient air in an office building. It can be tempting to choose the high-range sensor so all your bases are covered. However, we recommend that you choose the low-range sensor if the VOC levels are likely to be low. The reasons for this are:

The low-range sensor is more sensitive at low VOC levels, picking up even tiny traces of VOCs.

The low-range sensor has higher resolution (0.1 ppm), giving more accurate low-level readings.

The video below shows a side-by-side comparison of the low-range and high-range Aeroqual VOC sensors as they are exposed to low levels of VOCs.

<figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9
