Benzene Calibration Gas: Precision Testing Made Simple

When it comes to maintaining the accuracy of your gas detection equipment, using the right calibration gas is essential. For benzene sensors and monitors, benzene calibration gas ensures your instruments provide reliable and consistent readings, whether in industrial environments, labs, or hazardous work zones.

What Is Benzene Calibration Gas?

Benzene calibration gas is a specialty gas blend packaged in a pressurized cylinder, used specifically to test and calibrate gas detection equipment for accurate benzene readings. It helps verify that your sensor or detector is responding correctly to the expected concentration of benzene.

We offer single calibration gas cylinders in a variety of concentrations and cylinder sizes to suit different applications—from quick checks to regular industrial calibration.

Custom Gas Sensing Calibration Kits

Every calibration need is unique, which is why our Gas Sensing Calibration Gas Kits are fully customizable. Whether you need:

  • A specific benzene concentration (e.g., 1 ppm, 10 ppm, or 25 ppm)
  • A different cylinder size (34L, 58L, 103L, or 120L)
  • A fixed-flow or demand-flow regulator

—we’ll help you find the perfect setup for your application.

Choosing the Right Range for Your Sensor

Selecting the proper concentration range is just as important as choosing the right gas. Using too high a concentration can damage your sensor and potentially void its warranty.

For example, if you’re calibrating a sensor designed to detect up to 200 ppm, such as the ATI Ammonia Sensor 00-1010, it’s safer and more effective to use a 100 ppm calibration gas rather than one rated at 250 ppm. This principle applies across various gas types, including benzene.

Cylinder Size: What’s Right for You?

  • 34L Cylinder – Ideal for infrequent calibrations (e.g., once or twice a year). It’s portable and cost-effective.
  • 120L Cylinder – Best for frequent calibrations or calibrating multiple sensors. This size offers a longer lifespan and better value for high-volume users.

We use 120L cylinders in our lab because we perform calibrations daily, but for occasional users, 34L or 58L cylinders offer the most convenience.

Why Calibrate with Benzene Gas?

Benzene is a volatile organic compound (VOC) that’s hazardous at even low concentrations. Accurate detection is critical for:

  • OSHA compliance
  • Environmental monitoring
  • Petrochemical and manufacturing safety
  • Indoor air quality control

Regular calibration with high-quality benzene gas helps ensure your equipment is functioning as intended, keeping your environment and personnel safe.
