The PortaSens 1 was the original design of what is now the PortaSens II Gas Detector. The functionality of the PortaSens makes it the perfect device for portable gas detection and for finding small leaks. The original design was a bit smaller than upgraded version and had the battery built into the handle. The PortaSens 1 were also marketed by Honeywell as leak detection devices for Ammonia and Ozone.
Overtime and design changes the PortaSens 2 (C16) was developed with some upgrades such as field replaceable sensor and the replaceable batteries in the handle.
The PortaSens 1’s are becoming obsolete, but Gas-Sensing is still able to service these units. However, if the battery fails or if the pump fails there is no way to service/fix these units and therefore must be completely replaced.
