Aeroqual Particle Matter (PM) sensor head readout

Aeroqual has recently introduced a particle matter sensor for use with the handheld Aeroqual gas sensors.  This sensor works with the Series-200, Series-300, and Series-500 sensor bases.  This sensor will work with any new handheld base you already own, or anew base you purchase.

The video below describes the readout and response time of this PM sensor.

The PM measurement units are mg/m3 and ppm (parts per million). Either unit can be selected for the measurement readouts on the screen.

The Aeroqual PM meter is simultaneously measuring two different sizes of particulate matter. PM2.5 refers to smaller particulate matter, measuring 2-½ microns across. PM 10 refers to larger particulate matter, measuring 10 microns across.

There is also a min-max-average screen option with this PM detector. When the min/max/ave option is turned on (“start”), the screen readout shows the minimum, maximum, and average readings for both PM2.5 and PM 10 measurements, from the time you powered the sensor on. The current reading also is displayed on the screen.

In this video, we show how quickly this monitor responds to changes in dust in the air. As we brush a bit of dust off our hands near the sensor inlet, the reading on the screen updates very quickly, showing the increase in particulate matter in the air near where we are detecting. Also, as soon as we stop brushing dust off our hands, and the dust begins to settle, you can see the readout measurements decrease rapidly. This PM detector is giving accurate, real-time measurements of the air you are breathing, and the portability of the detector allows you to take it any place you go.
