K-2803 Chromate Vacu-Vials Kit is used to determine Chromate levels from 0-3.50 ppm.

The K-2803 Chromate Kit was designed to accurately measure the levels of Chromate in water from 0-3.50 ppm. K-2803 uses the Diphenylcarbazide Method. With the chromate test method, hexavalent chromium reacts with diphenylcarbazide under acid conditions to form a red-violet color. Results are expressed as ppm (mg/L) CrO4

Hexavalent chromium salts are used in numerous industrial processes. They are also used extensively as corrosion inhibitors in open and closed cooling water systems

How to use:

  1. The Instrument must be turned on.
  2. Put the Zero ampoule into the device and cover with the light shield piece to zero out the unit. (NOTE: This must be zeroed any time the unit is turned off and turned back on)
  3. Fill to the 20 mL mark in the sample cup with your water.Fill the sample cup to 25ml  

  4. Add 4 Drops of Acidifier Solution and stir the sample cup.
  5. Snap the end of the Vacu-vial in the water on the bottom/side of the 25 mL sample cup.Snap the tip of the ampoule on the bottom and side of the sample cup
  6. Mix the contents of the ampoule by tipping back and forth a few times.Tip the vacu-vial back and forth to mix
  7. Dry the vacu-vial and wait 2 minutes for color development.Dry vacu-vial and then insert into the I-2019
  8. Place the vacu-vial ampoule into the device (flat end first) for readout.
