Sensors:
The Q46R ORP Monitoring System uses the Q22R sensor with a few different options as listed & described below. Select the best option for your set up and application.
ORP sensor is a 1" NPT, dual-electrode design. The electrode is fully sealed in a glass to prevent contamination of the sensor. The housing or chamber of the sensor is fully serviceable by removal of the saltbridge and replacement of the sensor solution (Part Numbers 09-0042 for 200mV or 09-0043 for 600 mV – both are 500mL bottles).
PEEK with electrical connector Sensor
The sensor is constructed of molded PEEK (poly-ether-ether-ketone) components, but the sensor comes with electrical connector. The unique body is hex shaped to facilitate quick connection to standard 1" NPT fittings, and includes a titanium ground electrode to improve signal stability and enable electrode breakage diagnostic functions to be performed.
Sensor Cable Lengths:
The sensor comes with a standard 15 foot length cable.
Q45R Features:
-Loop or Battery-Operated Power Options
-Differential Sensors for long operating life
-Submersion, In-Line, or Sanitary-Style Sensors
-Clear Display -Large, easy-to-read LCD display.
-Special High Purity sensor option
-Flexible Mounting - NEMA 4X (IP-66) enclosure is suitable for wall or pipe mounting.
ORP Calibration:
The Q22 ORP sensor used on the Q45R ORP Transmitter can be calibrated and rebuilt for long-term use. The ORP sensor is calibrated to a buffer solution, listed below, choose the buffer solution relevant to your ORP readings and desired calibration point. Each buffer solution product page provides detailed instructions on how to calibrate the ORP sensor.

Measure Ozone in water with ORP Meters:
How does an ORP Meter work?
ORP stands for oxidation-reduction potential. It is a measure of the ability of a solution to oxidize or reduce other substances. ORP may also be referred to as redox Potential.
ORP levels in water can be measured with an electronic ORP meter. ORP meters use electrodes in water that measure the voltage difference between the two electrodes. Water with a higher potential to lose electrons (oxidize) will create a higher ORP reading, measured in Millivolts (mv). Lower, (potentially negative) ORP values indicate the water is more reducing.
Using ORP to Measure Dissolved Ozone:
ORP meters can indicate dissolved ozone levels in water. Ozone, being a strong oxidizer, increases water's ORP. However, other factors like pH, dissolved oxygen, and other substances can also affect ORP, meaning there's no direct correlation between ORP values and ozone levels.
For specific applications, ORP meters can be calibrated or correlated to known ozone levels, provided other water parameters remain stable. This makes ORP valuable for monitoring changes in dissolved ozone and general water quality.
These tools can be used to measure ozone in water for correlation purposes:
