Description / R-5005C Hydrazine
The K-5005C Hydrazine Kit was designed to accurately measure the levels of hydrazine in water from 0-500 ppm. K-5005C uses the PDMAB Method. CHEMetrics' hydrazine test kits employ the PDMAB, paradimethylaminobenzaldehyde chemistry. PDMAB in acid solution reacts with hydrazine to form a yellow product. Results are expressed as ppb (ug/L) or ppm (mg/L) N2H4.
Hydrazine is a powerful reducing agent that is used in various chemical processes and in boiler water as an oxygen scavenger. To control corrosion, residual hydrazine typically is maintained in the 0.05 to 0.1 mg/L range. Higher levels may be used to guard against corrosion when the boiler is out of service for an extended period.

How to Use:
- Fill the micro-test tube halfway with water sample
- Fill to the dilutor snapper cup to the specific mark with distilled water.
- Ensure the VACUette tip is firmly attached to ampoule tip. Holding the VACUette horizontally, touch the tip to the contents of the micro-test tube.
- Place the VACUette between the vertical tip guides on the inside of the dilutor snapper cup. Snap the ampoule tip.
- Mix ampoule by inverting several times
- Dry the ampoule, and wait 10 minutes for color development.
- Obtain results by placing ampoule between color standards until best color match is found.
