Why Choose Vacu-vials?
CHEMetrics Vacu-vials self-filling ampoules are a great way to test for dissolved substances in liquid. Unlike our visual test kits, the Vacu-vials test kit allows you to obtain an instrumental result using the CHEMetrics Direct-Redout Photometers or any spectrophotometer capable of accepting a 13m diameter round cell. When using equipment from another manufacturer, set the spectrophotometer to absorbance mode, select the wavelength specified by the Vacu-vials kit instructions, and follow the test procedure. The K-1503 Ammonia Kit is designed to accurately measure the levels of Ammonia in water from 0-7.00 ppm.
Safe and Reliable Results:
While traditional methods often require multiple steps and thorough preparation, these test kits allow you to obtain dependable results with a few simple steps. By simplifying the testing method, Vacuvials test kits reduce the potential for operator error. Additionally, each of the ampoules contained in the test kits is vacuum sealed which helps eliminate the problem of obtaining inaccurate results from stale or unstable reagents. These reagents are stored right in the tip of each ampoule and sealed in glass, thereby minimizing direct contact with the chemicals.
What's Included:
-30 self-filling Ampoules -1 25 mL Sample Cup -Stabilizer Solutions -Ampoule Blank -1 mL Syringe -Instruction Manual |
Method:
The K-3503 Copper Kit was designed to accurately measure the levels of Copper in water from 0-12.00 ppm. K-3503 uses the Bathocuprione Method. CHEMetrics' test kits employ the bathocuproine reagent. Bathocuproine disulfonate forms an orange-colored chelate with copper. The method measures total soluble copper as ppm (mg/L) Cu. The test kits are applicable for analysis of drinking water, surface waters, groundwater, wastewater and seawater.
Copper is naturally present in the earth's crust and in seawater. Copper-containing fungicides are used to control biological growth in water supplies. The Maximum Contaminant Level Goal for copper is 1.3 mg/L in drinking water.
How to Use:
1. Fill the sample cup to the 25 mL mark with the sample to be tested. | 2. Place the Vacu-vial ampoule tip-first into the sample cup. Snap the tip and the ampoule will automatically fill. |
3.To mix the ampoule, tilt it from side to side, allowing the bubble to travel from end to end. | 4. Dry the ampoule |
5. Wait 2 minutes for color development. | 6. Insert the Vacu-vial ampoule into the photometer, flat end first, and obtain a reading in ppm. |
