The K-7512 CHEMets Visual Kit is visual indicator kit for measuring oxygen in water levels from 0-12. This device uses the Indigo Carmine Method for testing. In an acidic solution, oxygen oxidizes the yellow-green colored leuco form of indigo carmine to form a highly colored blue dye. The resulting blue color is proportional to the dissolved oxygen concentration in the sample. The results are displayed on the monitor in ppm (mg/L) Oxygen present.
|1. Fill the sample cup to the 25 mL mark with the sample to be tested.
|2. Place the ampoule tip-first into the sample cup. Snap the tip and the ampoule will automatically fill.
|3. To mix the ampoule, tilt it from side to side, allowing the bubble to travel from end to end. Dry the ampoule and wait 1 minute for color development.
|4. To obtain results place the ampoule between the color standards, moving it along the comparator until you can determine the closest match.
