CHEMetrics Vacu-vials self-filling ampoules are a great way to test for dissolved substances in liquid. Unlike our visual test kits, the Vacu-vials test kit allows you to obtain an instrumental result using the CHEMetrics Direct-Redout Photometers or any spectrophotometer capable of accepting a 13m diameter round cell. When using equipment from another manufacturer, set the spectrophotometer to absorbance mode, select the wavelength specified by the Vacu-vials kit instructions, and follow the test procedure. The I-2002 Dissolved Oxygen Meter is designed for accurately and quickly measuring oxygen in water levels from 0 - 15.0 ppm.

The K-7513 uses the Indigo Carmine Method for testing. In an acidic solution, oxygen oxidizes the yellow-green colored leuco form of indigo carmine to form a highly colored blue dye. The resulting blue color is proportional to the dissolved oxygen concentration in the sample. The results are displayed on the monitor in ppm (mg/L) Oxygen present. K-7513 Vacu-vials are used with the I-2002 Dissolved Oxygen Meter which gives the digital readout of the ppm (mg/L) of oxygen.
How to Use:
|1. Fill the sample cup to the 25 mL mark with the sample to be tested.
|2. Place the Vacu-vial ampoule tip-first into the sample cup. Snap the tip and the ampoule will automatically fill.
|3.To mix the ampoule, tilt it from side to side, allowing the bubble to travel from end to end.
|4. Dry the ampoule
|5. Wait 2 minutes for color development.
|6. Insert the Vacu-vial ampoule into the photometer, flat end first, and obtain a reading in ppm.
