The K-9503 Sulfide Kit was designed to accurately measure the levels of Sulfide in water from 0-3.00 ppm.

By simplifying the testing method, Vacuvials test kits reduce the potential for operator error. Additionally, each of the ampoules contained in the test kits is vacuum sealed which helps eliminate the problem of obtaining inaccurate results from stale or unstable reagents. These reagents are stored right in the tip of each ampoule and sealed in glass, thereby minimizing direct contact with the chemicals.

K-9503 uses the Methylene Blue Method. CHEMetrics test kits measure total acid-soluble sulfides and employ the methylene blue methodology. Sulfides react with dimethyl-p-phenylenediamine in the presence of ferric chloride to produce methylene blue. Results are expressed as ppm (mg/L) S.
How to Use:
|1. Fill the sample cup to the 25 mL mark with the sample to be tested.
|2. Add 5 drops of the Activator Solution. Stir to mix the contents of the cup.
|3. Immediately place the Vacu-vial ampoule tip-first into the sample cup. Snap the tip and the ampoule will automatically fill.
|4. To mix the ampoule, tilt it from side to side, allowing the bubble to travel from end to end.
|5. Dry the ampoule and wait 5 minutes for color development.
|6. Insert the Vacu-vial ampoule into the photometer, flat end first, and obtain a reading in ppm.
